Missions
Sensing of
A tmospheres and
Monitoring
The laboratory is located on the Arlon campus in the Department of Environmental Science and Management. Since 1995, it is specialized in environmental metrology of polluted atmospheres.
Renowned for its research activities on the measurement of environmental odours, the laboratory innovates with its work on indoor air quality, urban air pollution, gaseous emissions from agricultural surfaces and the VOC composition of human breath.
Its activities focus in particular on the development of original methodologies and tools, for example with micro-sensors for the real-time measurement of complex atmospheres.
It's a member of international and national groups (CEN working groups, national health council, ISSeP, ISOCS, ...) and of various international scientific committees (NOSE, ISOEN, IWA, ...).
Service to the community is also part of its missions (conferences for the general public, analyses - air, odour, indoor air including mould analysis).
The laboratory welcomes foreign students, PhD students and researchers.
It has several teaching and training activities related to its research fields.
Monitoring air quality and knowing pollutant emissions is already taking action: identifying sources of pollution, informing citizens and decision-makers, priorities for action
